Survived By: Mrs. Briant is survived by her children Richard Switzer, Huntsville, AL, Tammy (Gary) Matice, Chaumont, Francis (Heather) Briant III, Adams Center, Scott (Debbie) Briant, Beaufort, SC, ten grandchildren ; two sisters Rachel Gould, Watertown and Nancy Vanderzee, Trumansburg, NY and several nieces and nephews.

Beatrice "Linda" Briant, 69, of Stillwater Rd, Trumansburg and formerly of Theresa and Evans Mills, passed away on Monday August 29, at Seneca View Nursing Home in Montour Falls, NY, after a long battle with liver disease. Born December 29, 1941 in Watertown the daughter of Frederick and Beatrice (Ballou) Cardinal. She graduated from Trumansburg High School and received her Licensed Practical Nursing education in Watertown. She married Francis H. Briant on April 5, 1969. Mr. Briant passed away on May 4, 2010. Mrs. Briant was a nurse for over 35 years at Montour Falls, E.J. Noble in Alexandria Bay and Mercy Hospital in Watertown. She enjoyed golf, bowling and stock car racing as well as being a caring, compassionate wife and mother. Mrs. Briant is survived by her children Richard Switzer, Huntsville, AL, Tammy (Gary) Matice, Chaumont, Francis (Heather) Briant III, Adams Center, Scott (Debbie) Briant, Beaufort, SC, ten grandchildren ; two sisters Rachel Gould, Watertown and Nancy Vanderzee, Trumansburg, NY and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Richard Cardinal, three sisters Jean Vanderzee, Patricia Groff , Kay Fitzgerald and a grandson Sikora Briant. The Memorial Service will be held Saturday September 3rd, 12 noon at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home Rev. Donald Briant officiating. Burial will be at Evans Mills Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Friday from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at the funeral home. Donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Jefferson County, American Heart Association or Kidney Foundation.
