Laura Stoel - Class Of 2015

Laura Ann Stoel of Trumansburg, NY, passed away unexpectedly August, 2016, at the age of 19. God blessed the family of John Stoel (deceased February, 17 2002) and Sandra Stoel (now Goblet), with a second girl as they welcomed Laura, the tenth of eleven children, to their loving family on February 22, 1997. Laura brought much joy to her family and friends through her sweet demeanor, loving personality, beautiful smile, and heartfelt hugs. Laura's thoughtfulness and generosity continually blessed those around her. Her strong will and determination showed in her competitiveness in many areas, including her academics. She was smart and a very quick learner, especially enjoying writing and spelling, excelling at both. Laura was a skilled artist and expressed herself often through beautiful drawings, many of which she gave away to those around her. Laura loved music, playing her guitar and writing. She enjoyed performing songs for friends, with her beloved sister Rebecca. She is also remembered as singing hymns such as The Old Rugged Cross and How Great Thou Art while working on her school assignments. Laura's strong sense of adventure and love for the outdoors lead that she often explore the woods and nearby creek behind the Stoel home, making many treasured memories with her siblings Sean, Ryan, Jessica, Luke, Benjamin, Schuyler, Austin, Caleb, Josh, and Rebecca. Her clever playfulness and fun-loving enthusiasm often showed through pranks played on her family and friends and their pranks on her. She was extraordinarily helpful, often offering to assist with chores and other tasks. Laura was also kind, compassionate, and loving - able to forgive instead of holding a grudge. Her kindness and love for others shone through in many ways and enabled her to connect significantly with children and animals, in addition to adults. As a young teenager, Laura would ride her bike to pick strawberries at Silver Queen Farm near her home, where she is remembered as a beautiful girl, diligent and competitive worker, and willing helper. Most recently, she worked at the Ithaca Five Guys restaurant, where she was highly regarded by her manager and coworkers. Laura's family was very important to her and held an extremely special place in her heart, shown by her deep love for her parents and siblings, as well as her extended family. She was thrilled to welcome Amy Meenan Stoel as her sister-in-law and loving friend in 2007, and later became the proud aunt to her loving nephews, Aidan, Covan, and Rylan. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In addition to her father, Laura was predeceased by her brother and sister, Ryan and Jessica; her paternal grandparents, Albert and Jeannette Stoel; and uncle, Donald Stoel. Laura Ann Stoel will be remembered by family and friends as a vibrant young woman who desired to be of help to others, and looked forward to developing her potential as a young adult. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends are invited to Grace Lee Memorial Wesleyan Church 2075 Chambers Rd. Beaver Dams, NY on Sunday August 28, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 4:15 p.m. Graveside services will be held in Jones Cemetery, Trumansburg, NY.
